This Watch We have here a stunning vintage Doxa wristwatch from the 1950s with a gorgeous, original, patina salmon coloured dial. The mix of long spearhead markers , gilt dots and Arabic numeral 12 is excellent and, apart from the ageing which gives no doubt to its originality, Bundles of character and vintage appeal. Even inside nicely sculpted hands! Complete with central seconds and outer fine minutes, this watch is a military style beauty. A Good sized, 34mm, stainless steel case houses the Doxa finished Caliber , fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've paired this watch on a brown, suede strap but it looks great on anything. Also Note we have attached an image of what looks to be the original watch advert! Extra Points Doxa was established in 1889 in Le Locle Switzerland by Georges Ducommun. In 1921 Doxa became the supplier of dash clocks to Bugatti. In 1925 Georges became the vice president of the Swiss Horology Society. 1936 saw Georges passing and the company was now in the hands of son in law Jaques Nardin the grandson of Ulysse Nardin. In 1944 the company was renamed Manufacture des Montre DOXA. The company was finally sold in 1997 to the Jenny family, transferring their headquarters to Bienne Switzerland. What we think This is probably one of my favourite watches for under 500 and it is very hard to not get excited by it!
